Photo Booth Add-Ons Worth the Money (and Ones to Skip)

Worth It: Flower Wall Backdrop ($250)

The single best add-on. Paired with the mirror, it creates the photograph destination your guests return to all night. Your photographer will use it as the backdrop for the group formals. Your Instagram will thank you.

Worth it if:you're hosting a wedding, engagement party, bridal shower, or any event where photographs matter.

Worth It: Custom Print Template (Included)

This is included with every Picture and Petal package — but some Saskatoon competitors charge $75–$150 extra for it. Beware. A custom template with your names, event date, and colour palette is the difference between a memorable keepsake and a generic 4×6 print.

Worth it if: every event. Absolutely non-negotiable. Check that whichever vendor you book includes this by default.

Worth It: Extra Hour ($120)

If you're on the 3-hour Premium Print Package and your reception is running past 10:30 PM, spend the $120 to add an hour. The last hour of the night has the best candid photographs — you don't want the booth to shut down when the dance floor is at peak.

Worth it if: wedding receptions with more than 100 guests, late-night NYE parties, prom afterparties.

Sometimes Worth It: Custom Neon Signage ($200)

A laser-cut neon sign with your monogram, wedding hashtag, or phrase like “Better Together” is a beautiful visual add-on. It photographs well and lives on the flower wall or above the booth.

Worth it if: your wedding aesthetic is modern/editorial and you have 3+ weeks lead time. Requires custom fabrication.

Skip if:your wedding aesthetic is classic/traditional. A neon sign will read as trendy in 5 years' time when you look back at photographs.

Sometimes Worth It: Guestbook Album ($150)

A linen-bound album where guests paste a print and write a message. Beautiful keepsake, especially for weddings. But most couples don't revisit them after the first few months — your online gallery serves as a de-facto guestbook.

Worth it if: you want a physical keepsake for the wedding shelf.

Skip if:you're digital-first and will look at the online gallery instead.

Sometimes Worth It: USB of All Photos ($50)

Some vendors charge $50 to hand you a USB with every image. Picture and Petal includes the USB in every package. Same warning as with the print template — check what's actually included with your booked vendor.

Worth it if:your vendor doesn't include it by default.

Skip: Rubber Prop Kit

You know the ones — inflatable microphones, plastic Groucho glasses, feather boas. Every open-air Saskatoon vendor throws these in. They look tacky in wedding photographs and end up in the trash.

Picture and Petal uses an editorial prop kit instead: hand-picked signage, vintage sunglasses, elegant floral crowns. Included at no extra cost. Everything photographs well.

Skip: Live Slideshow Projection (usually)

Some vendors offer to project the photos live on a screen at your reception. In practice, guests rarely look at the projection during the party — they're eating, drinking, or dancing. Photographs live on Instagram after, not during.

Skip if: normal wedding reception.

Consider if: corporate event where you want the live gallery running on a monitor for a lead-capture display.
